There's a DD2 Q. and A. below. Please check www.freewebs.com/ddii/ for more info on dd2.
So you know about the game but you don't know the basic details? Below is a quick FAQ to answer a few of the questions you may have. Check back regularly because some changes may occur over time. If you have any questions please post them here.
If for some reason you have trouble registering for the forum, you can still post in the forum support section. We will try to help you out.
Q: Who is developing this new project?
A: Currently active members include:
Clone256 - (Lead Developer)
MercyKill - (Web Maintenance/ Level Design)
SleeperUT - (Level Design)
We are looking for people to add to the development team. Please contact us in the development section of the forums if you would like to join.
Q: What is this new project you guys are working on?
A: We're working on a new game based on DeathDrome, which is the game that most of the people here played from September 1997- May 2000, on HEAT.NET. Heat shut down and after a while we started to play on Kali (http://www.kali.net/). Until we choose an official name the game is known as DD2 or ProjectPrisoner. You can just refer to it as DDII/DD2 or PP/ProjectPrisoner.
Q: Why are you making a DD2?
A: Well there are a few reasons. We feel it is something that we as a community should do in order to keep contact and bring a great game back. The DD community would really benefit from a modern version of the game.
Q: What's new in DD2?
A: Check out the forums here or check the new dd/ dd2 site at www.freewebs.com/ddii/
Q: When will it be released?
A: As of now there is no set release date, but we will be releasing screenshots and maybe even starting the Beta soon. We will invite the former DD players to participate in the Beta testing phase.
How much will it cost?
There is no set price yet.
How will you distribute the game?
This has not been decided yet, since we are hoping for a release on both pc and xbox 360 (through xbox live).
I want to help. How can I?
We are always looking for people who are available to help out. There are some things you can do to help even if you don't have any previous game development experience. Please check the new DD2 web site for more details on how to join. The more people we have available to help out, the sooner we can get this game released.
The development team would like to thank everyone for their support.
